Introduction

The Great Qing is the last empire in the history of China from 1644 to 1912 with the rule of minority ,Manchu people, over the Han people. Nevertheless, their importance is significant due to the increasing interaction with the West such as Britain and Russia. Throughout their history, the Qing constantly had to deal with foreign affairs to limit the influence of the West as well as defense against the remnants of the Ming dynasty who wanted to restore Han's royal family back into power.  However, with a strong leadership under the reign of many talented emperors such as Kangxi and Yongzheng, the dynasty reached their zenith but their descendants couldn't maintain the strong foundation and slowly fell into chaos due to internal conflicts and pressure from the Western countries during the First and Second Opium Wars in 1839 and 1860.
